February 20: Professor Tomasz Kapitaniak awarded the Minister's Prize at the Polish Science Gala

One of the most important academic events took place within the walls of the Polish Theatre in Warsaw – the Polish Science Gala, marking Polish Science Day. In the presence of government representatives, local governments, and university rectors, on Friday, February 20, outstanding scientists whose achievements have shaped the country's development were honored.

Awards were presented in five categories: for overall achievements, scientific activity, teaching, implementation, and organizational work – emphasizing that Polish science today is not only a source of pride but, above all, a strategic driving force for a modern, competitive, and sustainable future.

Minister of Science Awards – Recognition for Innovators and Leaders

The highlight of Friday's gala was the presentation of the Minister of Science and Higher Education Awards, which honor outstanding achievements in the Polish academic community. This year, over 150 individuals were recognized – both individually and as part of research teams.

Professor Tomasz Kapitaniak was recognized for overall achievements. This category honored 20 outstanding scientists whose long-standing work has contributed to the development of disciplines such as economics, archaeology, chemistry, and physics. The winners represent institutions such as the Poznań University of Economics, Maria Curie-Skłodowska University in Lublin, and institutes of the Polish Academy of Sciences.
